Was this the first time I used the platform?

To begin, I have never really used Facebook much. I know that's probably weird/ unusual coming from someone who's considered a “Gen Z.” However, this is not my first time using the platform. I have used it a few times to look at online stores, marketplace, etc. 

Did I like the platform used? 

I don’t dislike the platform but, I don’t really like social media too much. I think my reason for that is safety and not to mention I’m a bit introverted. I don’t like the idea of posting pictures and videos of myself on the platform. I know that you can make your account private but as for now I would rather not post myself on social media. 

Was it easy to use?

I’m not a regular user of Facebook however, I will say it is fairly easy to use. I’m still learning how to fully navigate it and understand it a bit but it’s not difficult to use at all once you get the hang of it. Whenever I do go on Facebook I usually go through marketplace to see what’s for sale. I love shopping, I think it’s an addiction I have. So, I love looking at online stores and whatever I see online that I like and is affordable I'll order it. In addition, sometimes I’ll look at my family members' posts.

What do you think are some of the best ways to use the platform?

I think advertising a business or conducting an online business is one of the best ways to use Facebook. We are in the 21st century where everything can be found and done online. A lot of people rather shop online than go to a physical store because it’s a lot more convenient for them. Also, some business owners, especially small business owners, would rather have an online store than a physical store because it costs less. They don’t have the expense of paying rent anymore and having an online store than a physical one is a lot safer. Given the time we are in right now in Trinidad & Tobago and around the world when it comes to crime.

Furthermore, some people will use Facebook for their personal use to create content. Whether it be giving their thoughts/opinions about a product or service, cooking videos, dance videos, shopping hauls, podcasts, polls, memes, and even blogs.

What makes the platform different from other platforms?

Compared to other platforms, in my opinion, Facebook has been the most popular platform for quite some time. Facebook has a huge user base with billions of active users around the world, it has been the main/ primary platform where people can connect and interact with their friends and family around the world at any time. In addition, it's the main platform where business is conducted and advertised.

How can business owners use the platform?

Business owners can use Facebook to advertise their products/services to reach consumers. They can even partner with popular social media influencers/ content creators to promote their business to get more recognition. Especially if it’s a small business. Also, business owners can use this platform to interact with their customers, conduct surveys, etc. To strengthen their business and build that bond with their customers.
