As stated by Wikipedia, LinkedIn is a business and employment-focused social media
platform that works through websites and mobile apps. It was launched on May 5, 2003
by Reid Hoffman and Eric Ly. Since December 2016, LinkedIn has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft. The platform is primarily used for professional networking and
career development, and allows jobseekers to post their CVs and employers to post jobs.
From 2015, most of the company's revenue came from selling access to information about
its members to recruiters and sales professionals. LinkedIn has more than 1 billion
registered members from over 200 countries and territories.
LinkedIn allows members (both workers and employers) to create profiles and connect
with each other in an online social network which may represent real-world professional relationships. Members can invite anyone (whether an existing member or not) to become
a connection. LinkedIn can also be used to organize offline events, join groups, write
articles, publish job postings, post photos and videos, and more.

Was this the first time I used the platform?
This was not my first time using LinkedIn. I’ve been using this platform for a few
years now. I think a family member or a friend introduced it to me. However,
I haven’t used LinkedIn in a little while. While doing my research for this blog I was
able to refresh my memory and learn some new things.
Did I like the platform used?
I do like this platform. I think that adults, specifically persons seeking employment,
should have a LinkedIn account and should use the platform regularly as a lot of job
opportunities can be found there.
Was it easy to use?
When I first started using LinkedIn I found it to be a little confusing as I was very new
to it but, it’s not difficult to navigate once you get used to it, watching a couple of
YouTube videos/tutorials can help, and it’ll make things a lot easier. You can download
the LinkedIn app on your smartphone or access it on your computer.

One can use LinkedIn to find internships/job opportunities, connect with others,
and learn new skills that can help boost your resume. It is important to keep your

What makes the platform different from other platforms?
The major difference between LinkedIn and other platforms is that LinkedIn is a
more business-oriented platform.
It’s strictly for business and it’s more of a professional
platform. Whereas other platforms are more personal and are mostly used for
entertainment.
How can business owners use the platform?
The first thing that came to my mind was advertising job vacancies. A lot of LinkedIn
users are job seekers. Business owners can also use this platform to promote their
business, create and share content regularly, reach new clients, build relationships,
and increase credibility.
